Let’s talk about something we don’t say enough in this world:
Sales can be fun.
Not “less dreadful.” Not “tolerable.” I’m talking actual fun—the kind that gives you a zing of energy instead of that low-key stomach knot that shows up when you’re “supposed” to sell.
Here’s the deal:
So many of the women I work with—founders, coaches, creatives, service pros—tell me they dread selling. It feels forced. Awkward. Like they’re wearing someone else’s blazer and reciting lines they’d never say in real life.
The irony? These same women are incredible communicators. They’re empathetic, insightful, persuasive without being pushy. So why does the word sales make them want to hide under their desk?
Because somewhere along the way, we were taught that sales had to look a certain way: Scripted. Slick. Buzzwordy. Buttoned-up.
But what if we flipped the script?
👉What if sales was just… a conversation?
👉A curious question?
👉A moment to connect and actually help someone?
Here’s the question I come back to all the time:
“How can I make this 1% more fun?”
It’s my go-to whenever I feel myself slipping into Dreadville. Because yes, I genuinely love sales—the challenge, the human connection, all of it. But even for me, there are days when it feels heavy or stale. And that one tiny question helps me shake it off.
✅Sometimes, it means voice-noting a potential client from the park instead of sending a stiff email.
✅Sometimes, it’s blasting a playlist that makes me feel like a badass before a discovery call.
✅Sometimes, it’s just remembering: this gets to feel good.
⭐Share a story on Instagram about why you really love what you do
⭐Send a “just because” note to a past client
⭐Host a tiny, no-pressure workshop and teach one thing you’re obsessed with
⭐DM a lead with zero pitch and 100% curiosity
There are so many ways to generate revenue without becoming a sales robot. You get to be fully you—and still close the deal.
So here’s your nudge:
Find one thing in your sales process.
Make it 1% more fun.
That’s it. No overhaul required.
