With the 4th of July right around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about freedom—what it really means and how we create more of it for ourselves. Especially now, when some freedoms in the world are being threatened or taken away, it’s a reminder that the kind of freedom we can build—through our skills, voice, and choices—matters more than ever.
For me, one of the most powerful forms of freedom has always come from mastering the skill of sales.
Let me tell you a quick story…
Years ago, I found myself at a company where I was crushing my goals, delivering results, and bringing in big wins. But over time, the culture started to shift—and not in a way that aligned with my values. I saw leadership making decisions that didn’t sit right with me, and I knew I had a choice to make.
Because I had developed sales as a core skill—one that directly impacted the bottom line—I had leverage. I could speak up when I didn’t agree. I could ask for what I needed. And when I realized the misalignment couldn’t be fixed, I could walk away on my terms.
That’s the power of sales. It’s more than a job—it’s a skill that gives you options.
And if you’ve been feeling like “sales just isn’t for me” or “maybe I’m not cut out for this”—especially as we hit the halfway point of the year—I want you to hear this loud and clear:
Keep. Going.
You are not behind. You are not broken. You’re in the messy middle—the place where growth is happening, even when you can’t see it yet.
The more you lean in, the more freedom you create:
💸 Freedom to choose the projects you say yes to
🙅♀️ Freedom to walk away from environments that don’t honor you
🔥 Freedom to build a life that feels as good as it looks
As we head into the 4th of July—when we celebrate freedom, courage, and independence—remember that those things aren’t just reserved for history books or fireworks. They live in you, too.
This is your moment to reclaim your power, reignite your purpose, and rise into the second half of the year with clarity and conviction.
Because sales skills aren’t just about closing deals—they’re about opening doors.
To choices. To confidence. To freedom.
